uses of a USB flash drive!
Loading data onto your USB flash drive
It is your choice whether to have the option to erase, or otherwise, data input in the flash drive, and thus use your USB flash drives to distribute documents, catalogues, brochures, photos, videos, links, and any other digital content. Also, if you do not wish your USB flash drive to be recognised as a generic volume, select the services of Autorun, Icon and Rename: on insertion into the computer, you will continue to communicate with your logo and your brand.
When loading erasable data, it is possible to insert any type of data or file in the flash drive and give the user the option to erase the said data, thus freeing up space in the memory drive and giving the option to use it freely. It is compatible with Windows and Mac.
When loading non-erasable data, your files are inserted in a partition of the chip, which is separate from the free memory so that it will not get erased even if formatted. When inserting the peripheral device into the computer, two icons will appear: one is read-only and the other is mass removable memory, which can be used freely. It is possible to load any type of data or file. It is only compatible with Windows.
The autorun function enables you to automatically open the contents of the USB flash drive when it is inserted into the computer. This option makes it easy to open a file (Word, Excel, Power Point, audio and video files) or an external URL to enable whoever is using the USB flash drive to view the most important contents without having to select them. However, some operating systems have reduced support of the autorun function.
Windows 2000 and Windows XP SP3 support autorun both in documents inserted in the flash drive and when opening through external HTMLs;
Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8/8.1 support autorun in documents inserted in the flash drive, however, the operating system may open a dialogue window before launching the function. However, they do not support autorun on external HTMLs.
MAC is not compatible with the autorun function.
Using this service gives you the option to assign a name to the flash drive. Therefore, upon inserting the device, it will be recognised with the selected name instead of the generic volume, thus making it easier for the recipient to recognise it. The name can have up to 11 characters. It is compatible with Windows and Macintosh.
Using this service gives you the option to assign a customised icon to the device, which will be displayed instead of the standard icon, thus making it easier for the recipient to recognise it. The requested format is .ico, however, we can assist you if you do not have it. Service recommended together with Renaming. It is only compatible with Windows.
